My dog, Samantha, plays in the fresh snow we awoke to this morning. She loves the snow and can spend hours running and rolling in it. Samantha is Border Collie / Black Lab mix. We rescued her from the Animal Shelter in Southampton, NY when she was just under a year old. Since then she has become a very important member of our family. So, as you can tell - there are beautiful dogs at shelters too - not just old or mean dogs. Shelter pets get a bad rap. Always check your shelter first for your next pet - you never know if they might have the perfect pet for you - as Samantha was for me :-)
